Knits: the next frontier

I was lucky sufficient to get an eBay gift card for Christmas … well, actually, it was meant for both me and my husband, however I appropriated it instantly and he didn’t squeak — he’s not what you would phone call a huge eBay shopper. and I figured I would spend it on — what else? — fabric. Namely, Liberty.

I fell in like with this pattern, and realized as well late that it’s jersey knit. I don’t truly sew with knits. I mean, I have done, however I’ve never truly delighted in it. I even got rid of my serger last year, because I do so bit knit-sewing. however for this fabric, I will make an exception. What type of exception, I don’t understand (well, I understand it’s not going to be an elastic-waist skirt, I have it narrowed down that much). I’m believing I’ll be doing a great deal of browsing over on BurdaStyle; they have fantastic patterns for knits. I want a gown (duh) and I want pockets (double duh) which are difficult to handle in knits, I think. (Maybe I’ll line them with organza?) however I’ll make it work. Fuchsia-style. just view me … on a considerable time delay, because there are about 677 jobs in front of this one. however still! Knits!
